Investment $228 million

The Government is investing in the men and women of our emergency services, providing them with the skills and resources they need to do their job.

What will the money be used for?

This investment includes:

Audit and repair six existing training facilities 

$80.7 million to audit and repair six existing training facilities and remediate the site of the former Fiskville Training College.

Build new training facilities in the Central Highlands and upgrade Huntly Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre 

$46.2 million to build new training facilities in the Central Highlands and upgrade Huntly Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre, to increase the State's training capability.

Expand the emergency medical response program to 35 Country Fire Authority brigades 

$37.1 million to continue and expand the emergency medical response program to 35 Country Fire Authority brigades to ensure firefighters are dispatched at the same time as paramedics, which will increase survival chances for critical patients.

Improve Life Saving facilities 

$6 million to redevelop Life Saving facilities used by volunteers and the community in Edithville, Anglesea, Portsea and Cape Paterson.
