State Emergency Service workers being briefed

We are investing in our emergency services, so they have the personnel and equipment they need to keep all Victorians safe.

What will the money be used for?

The 2017/18 Budget includes investments for:

Triple Zero

This Budget provides $72.3 million for Triple Zero to respond to demand for emergency call-taking and dispatch services, and to improve emergency services communications, including radio coverage in the City Loop and the national telephone warning system.

Life Saving Victoria

In addition, the Budget invests $6 million for Life Saving Victoria’s clubhouse redevelopments at Brighton, Jan Juc and Point Lonsdale.

Reduce the impact of bushfires

$273.3 million to reduce the impact of bushfires on Victorian communities, by targeting high risk areas, lifting firefighting capacity, and increasing the use of Aboriginal fire management practices.

SES vehicles

$34.3 million to fund Victoria State Emergency Service vehicles, equipment and new headquarters in Caroline Springs/Plumpton, Clyde, Craigieburn North, Cranbourne, Officer and Point Cook.
