Victorian Budget 22/23

Investing in Victorian communities

This Budget continues our record investment in communities in Victorian suburbs, with $50 million to extend the Growing Suburbs Fund.

Performers at candlelight concern

The Growing Suburbs Fund will provide grants for local community infrastructure projects, such as health and wellbeing hubs; community centres; arts and cultural facilities; parks and reserves; early education and learning centres; and sport and recreation facilities. Because no matter where you choose to live, work and raise a family – every Victorian deserves a great community.

Other initiatives include:

Funding new community infrastructure

$20 million for Living Local, Shopping Local and local community grants programs to support smaller scale infrastructure in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The Fund will deliver projects like new playgrounds, community gardens and upgrades to community centres.

Advancing the Fishermans Bend transformation

$750,000 to support the planning processes for Fishermans Bend.
